You can get technical support and important ProMatrix News
through the ProMatrix Newsgroups. The ProMatrix Newsgroups let
you communicate with the ProMatrix Technical Support Staff and
with other ProMatrix and FoxPro users. Many ProMatrix users are
delighted to assist you in learning to use ProMatrix Products.

How to Access the ProMatrix Newsgroups
|
|
You can access the ProMatrix Newsgroups through the Web or
with a newsgroup reader like Outlook Express: |

Web Access:
Click here
to access the Newsgroups through your Web browser. Tip: If you have been assigned a
ProMatrix Partners User Name and
Password, enter them in the boxes at the top-right of the page and click the Login button to see both public and ProMatrix
Partners Newsgroups.

Newsgroup Reader Access:
Click here
to have a "news.promatrix.com" news account automatically set up for you
in your news reader software (such as, MS Outlook Express).

User Information: After the ProMatrix Newsgroups account is set up in your news
reader, access the account's properties and enter your User Information.
In Outlook Express, the User Information is entered on the General page
of the Account Properties dialog.

Subscribing to ProMatrix Newsgroups:
Select the Outlook Express Tools - Newsgroups menu option.
Download the newsgroups list and subscribe.

ProMatrix Partners Newsgroups Access:
If you are eligible to participate in the ProMatrix Partners Newsgroups, in Outlook express
enter your ProMatrix Partners User Name and Password on the Server page of the news.promatrix.com
account Properties dialog. Check "This server requires me to log on". Enter your
ProMatrix Partners User Name in the Account Name box and your Password in the Password box.
Select the Tools - Newsgroups menu option. Click the Reset List button
to display the available newsgroups. Then, subscribe to the promatrix.partners.*
newsgroups.

topics. Review this list of Newsgroups to
learn the purpose of each ProMatrix Newsgroup. Each Newsgroup's name
suggest its purpose. It is important to know (1) where to post your
support requests and (2) where we post important announcements, tips
and code changes. |

Important:
You can freely access all of the ProMatrix Public Newsgroups, except the
ProMatrix Partner Newsgroup. The ProMatrix staff
only provides technical support
through the ProMatrix Partner Newsgroups. Consequently, do not send requests for support from the
ProMatrix staff to any of the public Newsgroups. If you are
not a member of the ProMatrix Partners Newsgroups, visit the
ProMatrix Partners
page to learn how to become a member. |

A Newsgroup that you, other ProMatrix and FoxPro users and we can use to
discuss and announce issues that don't relate directly to
ProMatrix, but that are of interest to ProMatrix and FoxPro users. Feel free
to use the Chatter Newsgroup as you like (as long as your use is
in good taste). |

If you are using the VPM
Enterprise Demo to evaluate VPM, we want your evaluation to go
smoothly. Therefore, we provide limited support through the
ProMatrix Demo Newsgroup. All questions regarding the VPM
Enterprise Demo should be posted on the ProMatrix Demo Newsgroup. |

A peer-to-peer Newsgroup that allows you to
interact with other users of ProMatrix Products and FoxPro. Use the
Developers Newsgroup to get support from, provide support to and
exchange ideas with other ProMatrix and FoxPro users. |

A version of the
Developers Newsgroup for Spanish-speaking users. |
| PMXLibrary |
The Library Newsgroup is a read-only
Newsgroup that we use to post coding tips and fixes. You’ll want
to check the Library Newsgroup frequently to see if there are any
new tips or fixes that you should know about. |

The News Newsgroup is a
read-only Internet Newsgroup that we use to announce ProMatrix news and developments. You'll want to check for new
messages on the ProMatrix News Newsgroup frequently to keep on top of what's happening
with your ProMatrix Products. |
| User Library |
The User Library Newsgroup is a
Newsgroup that you can use to post coding tips and utilities you
create. You’ll want to check the User Library Newsgroup frequently
to see if there are any new tips or utilities that you should know
about. We encourage users to submit coding tips and utilities to
the User Library. |
| VisualRep |
The place to go
for support for VisualRep, the
query and reporting tool for Visual ProMatrix. Support on this
Newsgroup is provided by Doron Farber, the creator of VisualRep. |
| VPM Standard |
A peer-to-peer Newsgroup for VPM Standard support that allows you
to interact with other users of VPM Standard. Use the VPM
Standard Newsgroup to get support from, provide support to and
exchange ideas with other VPM Standard users. |

A version of the Chatter Newsgroup devoted to discussions about
the World Wide Web and the Internet. The
main topic discussed is Web application development. |
